October Chapel Offering

For the Month of October, we will be collecting various items for our military. Many of these things will simply be fun things for wounded soldiers and military people who are far away from home. To show our appreciation for them, beginning next week, we will be asking students to bring various items each week to chapel. We will give them a little handout, so they know what to bring.

Then, in November, for Veteran’s Day we will be donating our collection to OPERATION GRATITUDE who will ship them to the military wherever they might be.

CDC News

We’ve been waiting a long time, but it is finally here! Construction on the new Trinity Child Development Center will begin on October 14, 2013 with the movement of the 3 houses that have frontage on Ruth Lane.

For many months we have been telling families of toddlers that their children will be moved to portables on our soccer field. I am writing you today to inform you that the original plan has been changed. The plan has changed for a number of reasons; the first and most important are the various safety issues that come into play. After much discussion, the children in the houses will be moving to the first floor of our Magnolia building. Our goal date is to have all of the children from the Ruth Lane houses relocated to the Magnolia building by the start of business on Monday, October 14th. This offers weather protection and an enclosed, easier to monitor space, where the children are protected from much of the construction process. The downstairs space of the Magnolia Building will be inaccessible by those who work on the second floor. It will contain office space for a CDC administrator, 6 class rooms and office space for Pastor, Deaconess Liz, Carlos Limontes (General Manager) and Chanda Busby (Ministry Associate).

These rooms are currently being cleaned and painted, sinks are being installed and tiles replaced to make them cozy and comfortable for all of our little ones. There will also be an indoor gross motor play space, as well as, access to outside play space for the . Overall, I believe it is a much better transition for the children and pick up and drop off will be easier for our families.

The move to the Magnolia building also saves Trinity almost $500,000! We will no longer have to rent the portables, which also lead to a shorter, more streamlined construction timeline. We are still slated to move in to the new building by next September.

We would be happy to take you over and show you the new space at your convenience.

Please know, that any delay in licensing from DCF will delay the move of the children.
