Trinity Voters Meeting

Trinity’s Voters will meet on Sunday, September 22, at 12:30 pm (directly following the 11:00 worship service) in the Sanctuary.  We will discuss the calling of a Campus Family and Youth Pastor.  We visualize this Associate Pastor primarily ministering to the families who are on our campus throughout the week.  This is a special voters meeting that is only concerned with this single issue.  Please join us!

Trinity Spirit Night at Tijuana Flats

We are having our first Spirit Night of the year on Wednesday, September 25th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Tijuana Flats on Summerlin.  Make sure to mention you are with Trinity and feel free to invite friends, family, and coworkers!

Strength for the Journey

Strength for the Journey is open to women of all ages and stages of life.  The October 11-13, 2013 weekend in Oviedo Florida is designed for women facing a difficult time in life. Whether your role is patient, caretaker, retiree, multi-tasking working mom, single career woman, family homemaker, or widow, you can use a weekend away. This time of renewal and sharing is led by women who have experience leading retreats, teaching, counseling and facing their own life challenges.  It is our hope that each person will become increasingly connected with our deeply loving God.  The retreat will include large group presentations on various topics as well as contemplative exercises, times of singing and small group sharing.  Please provide Julia Malenke with your name, email, address, phone number and $199.00 by September 30.  Her email is: juliamalenke@hotmail.com.

Festival of the Trees Design Team

The annual Orlando Art Museum Festival of Trees  display begins Saturday November 16.  This is a marvelous opportunity for you to holiday shop and support the museum at the same time.  The displays showcase the talents of many organizations and designers in Orlando.  You just can’t imagine what you will find hanging on a “Christmas” tree! Trinity has the honor of decorating one of the trees and displaying to the world the true meaning of Christmas and now is the time to gather a team of decorators.  Contact Deaconess Liz ASAP to join: 407-488-1919 x127 or eborth@trinitydowntown.com.

Sunday School Children Sing THIS Sunday, Sept 22 at 11:00!!

If you cannot stay for the 11:00 service, please pick your child up at their classroom.  If you can stay, the teachers will bring your children back to the basement and then up to church for the service.  The children will be sitting together up front and you are welcome to pick them up and take them to communion with you and then back to sit with you for the end of the service.  They will be singing twice, “The Butterfly Song” at the beginning, and playing instruments on the Canticle “All You Works of God Bless the Lord” right after the sermon. Thanks for letting your children lead us in worship this weekend!

Sunday School Notes for Parents

VPK 4’s through 5th Grade meet downstairs in the church basement for Openings.  Middle School Grades 6-8 and High School go directly to their classrooms upstairs in the two story building.  For pick-up, go to the child’s classroom in the two story building.  Follow the signs.  If you are late picking up, children will be in the VPK room, glass door outside the building, across from the bathroom on the way to the fellowship hall.  We do take offerings at our openings and there will be prizes for attendance and memory work.  Starting this next week, children will receive Sunday School Memory Dollars that they can accumulate or spend once a quarter at the Trinity Store.  If you haven’t registered for Sunday School yet, please do so at the opening downstairs.  We are learning this prayer for our openings that you might also want to use at home.

Luther’s Morning Prayer

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.

Food on the Fifth

Whenever a month has 5 Sundays, we celebrate the opportunity to share our blessings by bringing canned or boxed food to church.  This coming weekend is one with a FIFTH Sunday, so the Publix grocery cart will be in the narthex waiting for your donations. The Community Food and Outreach Center of Orlando will benefit from our generosity.  Fill the cart with your bogo items!  Particularly since this center assists so many homeless people, flip top or easy tab cans are most appreciated.
