Trinity's LWML News
LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League) was established in 1942 by Lutheran Women who worked in the home and wanted to contribute to the war (WWII) effort by cutting and sewing bandages for wounded soldiers. Trinity has had an LWML since 1945 and it has definitely changed in 76 years. We still collect mites in the little mite boxes which are still available for loose change. Those mites still go directly to the LWML Headquarters where they are housed until the bi-annual District Meeting. Each local chapter can send two delegates to vote on upwards of 50 Grants submitted from LWML churhes. Trinity was blessed to receive a $10,000 grant in 2018 in an effort to keep our day school (which has since closed).

The past 18 months have been very hard on our small group which has dwindled to less than half. But, we're still active in making hand tied quilts! October, specifically the first week, has been celebrated as LWML week in the Luthreran Church. In the past we have been able to display the quilts we have made which are shipped to Lutheran World Relief headquarters in Maryland each February. In 2021 we shipped 42 quilts and we are hoping to ship 50 in 2022.

We have been able to continue our quilting with generous donations of material, thread and sheets. Currently we only need sheets, used and colored or white.
If you would like to join us, we'd love to have you - (no experience necessary!) just give Mary Lou a call at 407-491-4452.

From FL-GA District President Greg Walton about the LWML: "October is also when many churches will celebrate the ministry of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League or LWML. These are ladies dedicated to missions both domestically and internationally. Through their mite box offerings they fund many mission endeavors. In fact, the LWML funded a partnership between Mission Nation Publishing and the Florida-Georgia District which is a pilot project to produce resources that will help churches reach new ethnic groups. Mission Nation will publish books, manuals, PowerPoint presentations, design conferences and create other resources to help churches in the FLGA District seeking to reach ethnic populations in their community. Recently, at their Fall Retreat the ladies raised close to $2000 from offerings and mite boxes for the Florida-Georgia District Disaster Relief fund. These ladies have fire in their hearts and definitely spending time in the Word." (Yes, our LWML ladies sure do!)

Checking in with our Trinity Family!!
Please take a few minutes to share some very, very important feedback.
Thank you.

How do you like the new Sunday Worship and Study schedule?
Please share your feedback in this very short survey?

Are you having trouble finding a Bible study or Book Study that's right for you? If you ARE having trouble finding the right group, please share some input to let us know what you want & need.

We have a significant shortage in volunteers.
Many factors are at play - and we can all certainly understand how easily things can get off track - especially given the ever-changing schedules, closures, and Covid issues recently. However, as we turn the corner and things are getting back to a new normal, we do not have the number of volunteers necessary to adequately staff our worship services. The volunteers who serve in worship ensure that each worship service runs smoothly: they welcome guests, hand out flyers, direct proper traffic flow, answer questions, collect the offering, support the Pastor, distribute communion, assist with baptisms, respond during emergencies, and so much more behind the scenes. When we have too few volunteers, we OVERwork the volunteers on the schedule, placing them in multiple roles, across multiple services, and over consecutive weekends. This prevents members of our Trinity family from having dedicated time to worship without a volunteer responsibility and that's not something we can allow to become standard procedure. Please take a moment to respond to this final survey this week, and let us know where you can serve in worship with your Trinity family in order to support worship running smoothly, ensure that no one has to work multiple roles repeatedly, and so that everyone has time to worship fully and freely. THANK YOU so very much!!
PUMPKIN DELAY!
Please note, due to staffing issues in the trucking company, our pumpkin delivery has been delayed. The pumpkins will now be delivered Monday at 7:30 am.
We are in desperate need of volunteers with this weekend to weekday schedule change, so if their is anyway YOU are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can help, please text PTL member Dana Pearch at +1 (904) 325-4920. SALES will begin on Tuesday.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN TRINITY'S FRONT LOT - at the time in the morning, QUEST families need that space to drop of kids for school. As our Quest students have special needs, a break in morning drop off routine can be very upsetting and we want to ensure that they have the spaces up front for drop off that morning. Please park in the spaces by the gym or Magnolia building, and walk up to help please.

Please bring gloves and if you have one that you can transport, wheelbarrows are a HUGE help. We are going to need all the help we can get. THANK YOU!

Downtown Orlando Pumpkin Patch
It's back! The Child Development Center's PTL is moving forward their biggest annual fundraiser, our Pumpkin Patch! The PTL will set up those fantastic photo-op areas and we'll have lots of pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, sizes, and prices. This is agreat opportunity for fundraising for our CDC, as well as for welcoming local guests onto our campus to see our Church and CDC and meet some of our Trinity family in a very casual environment. A pumpkin purchase is NOT required for someone to stop by to take photos among the pumpkins and decor - we have a handful of families who come every year just for photos, and they love it!

  • SPREAD THE WORD this UPDATED event is posted on Trinity's Facebook page - you can help spread the word and increase sales by SHARING that event on your own page, letting your own list of FACEBOOK friends know about it. THANK YOU!
  • VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY and meet some CDC Parents The pumpkins arrive on Monday, October 4 - and the PTL would WELCOME your strong muscles in helping with unloading the truck at an estimated arrival time of 4pm. Please come out and meet some of our CDC parents who will be there!
  • SALES start on Oct 5 and run through Oct 30. Once the PTL send out their volunteer sign up app through the CDC, we'll share it here so we can volunteer to help fill in any vacant spots they need help with.
