Word-Worship-Witness-Fellowship-Stewardship

There's a lot of excitement and hope in all that we're building and growing together as a Trinity Family connected by our faith and committed to our mission, which is sharing the gospel through ministries which strengthen and equip people for Christian witness and service in downtown, metropolitan Orlando, and the world.

So, get ready.... and let's go!
Lake Eola Christmas Community Outreach Event
The Trinity Family will once again participate in the City of Orlando's annual Tree Lighting Celebration at Lake Eola on the evening on Friday, November 30 from 5-9pm. It is a live, on-air, first lighting of Lake Eola Park's 72 foot Christmas tree, live music and performances, vendor booths, and The Daily City's Food Truck Bazaar.

TLS Students will sing on the amphitheater stage at 5:30pm, and Trinity volunteers will serve in the vendor area from 5pm-9pm with multiple free activities and giveaways that celebrate the birth of Jesus, and communicate that "It's still all about Jesus".

This is an amazing opportunity for our Trinity Family to connect with our neighbors, be seen in the community, and have conversations with people about why Trinity is so special to us, and invite them to come visit.  Plus, its really a lot of fun!

Trinity Family volunteers are invited to serve in various roles (K-8 families, PRICE hours apply). We need YOU there and you will LOVE it! Shifts are offered so you can volunteer one shift and enjoy the event as a guest for the other half. We also have a need for cupcake bakers, and some requests to borrow items needed such as 6' tables and 10x10 tents. Sign up online today at http://signup.com/go/qQFjuW   ( Please note, signing up today instead of a few days before the event is a true blessing to the event coordinators! Thank you!)   Questions? Contact Chanda at 407-488-1919 x101 or TLC@TrinityDowntown.com . Can't wait to see you all there!

Let's be Visible this Christmas with a Message that Matters!
Last year, for  the Christmas Community Outreach event at Lake Eola we designed shirts for the volunteers that shared a message about Jesus, and promoted Trinity Downtown and our website. The shirt was a huge hit - we were visible all over the park with our bright red shirts  and people saw so many of us, many stopped to ask who we were, and so we had  the opportunity to share a little bit about Trinity and invite them to visit, tour, and/or join us for worship. We'd like to offer this shirt to as many people in the Trinity family as possible this year to promote this message that matters- "It's Still All About Jesus" and create opportunities to tell people about Trinity

We have a SHORT WINDOW to get our order in so it's ready by November 29.  If you'd like to order one, the cost is $7.  Deadline is Monday, November 12, by Noon!  Because this needs to happen fast, please EMAIL Chanda at TLC@TrinityDowntown.com or CALL 407-488-1919 x101 to let us know how many you'd like to purchase and what size, and then drop off your payment to the church/school office or in the offering plate this weekend.

This Trinity Family is Amazing
Your Generosity is a HUGE Blessing!
The Trinity Shares Christmas - Angel Tree went up last week, filled with ornaments - and all the ornaments disappeared, carried off by the loving and generous members of Trinity. We are still trying to contact several families on our list, so check the tree again for new ornaments over the next two weeks.  If you would like to make a monetary donation to help with expenses, please make checks payable to Trinity Lutheran Church and note that it is for TSC-Angel Tree. Donations may be placed in the offering plate or in the TSC box in the narthex. Items may be brought to the church narthex any Sunday, no later than Sunday, November 25, or to the church office during normal working hours, no later than Monday, November 26.

We Need your MUSCLES!!
The office moves continue - to get our entire ministry team on the main campus.  We're so excited! Next step: moving the Pastoral Team and Finance Offices. We have 6 offices full of furniture that needs to be relocated to their new office spaces across campus. This move is scheduled for Saturday, November 17 from 9am until we're finished, but no later than 3pm, and please drop in for any amount of time you're available.  Please bring water, snacks, and lunch to keep yourself hydrated and nourished. Please R.S.V.P. to Eric Havens at Eric.Havens@Trinitydowntown.com. Your assistance is tremendously appreciated. Thank you.

Peace Comfort Dog
Peace Comfort Dog and her Top Dogs have been deployed to Panama City to share the Mercy, Compassion, Presence and Proclamation to those affected by Hurricane Michael.   The goal is to bring comfort to individuals and families directly impacted, first responders and volunteers - always in the name of Jesus Christ. Please pray for the ministry as we travel and serve the communities involved.   If you would like to help us defray the costs of our deployment, there are several ways to do so; visit our website at trinitydowntown.com/comfortdog, put a check in the offering plate marked Comfort Dog or give your donation to Keri or Meredith in the school offices.  Thank you for your support for Peace and her ministry here at Trinity. Questions about the Comfort Dog Ministry at Trinity? Contact "Top Dogs" Eric & Wendy Havens at 321-368-6340 or comfortdog@trinitydowntown.com.

Thanksgiving Bread Tradition
This is the last weekend to sign up.
Two more volunteers are needed to make this happen.
Bread bakers are needed for our traditional Thanksgiving mini-loaves that are baked by members, blessed on the Altar during Thanksgiving Eve worship, and sent home with families for their Thanksgiving meals. Requires baking at home, wrapped and tied, and returning individually wrapped loaves to Trinity on afternoon of Nov 22 by 2pm. Please contact Chanda for more information TLC@trinitydowntown.com.

Costume Preparation Project
Trinity's 78 VPK children will be wearing angel costumes for the Lake Eola Tree Lighting concert on November 30 and we are in need of volunteers to give these costumes a little bit of TLC. The angel costumes have been in storage for two years and would benefit from a little bit of freshening up, some just by ironing and others may need both washing and ironing. If you would like to help with this project, you can pick up as many as you would like to work on from Colby Howard's office in the CDC building starting this coming Tuesday morning, November 13. Costumes may be returned to her office on or before November 26th. Thank you for your gift of time in helping our littlest angels to shine as they share the good news of Jesus birth in song with our Orlando community.

POTLUCK...POTLUCK...POTLUCK
Have you planned your potluck dish yet? Our Trinity family Thanksgiving dinner is getting close! Sunday, November 18 is the date; 12:15pm is the time; the Fellowship Hall/gym is the place. The turkey and dressing will be ready, we just need you and a side dish. (Members whose last names start with A-J bring a salad or potato dish, K-S a vegetable dish, T-Z a dessert. Please plan for a dish to serve 10-12 people. The ovens will be full of turkey so we won't be able to bake your dish.) It will be a fun time, renewing old friendships and making new ones. Hope to see you there!

The estimated cost per participant is $1,500. This includes airfare, hotel, and meal money. Our first big sale begins now! Be sure to find our youth set up outside church selling TRASH BAGS! Each roll is $13, either 15 gallon bags / 65 bags per roll (white) or 39 gallon bags /25 bags per roll (yellow). Please make checks payable to TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH (youth fundraiser on memo). Thank you for your support.

Thank you! The Pumpkin Patch was a Great Success
Trinity's PTL was overwhelmed with joy watching families take pictures, seeing kids of all ages playing in the pumpkin patch, and having conversations with many of Trinity's neighbors in the surrounding community. We could not have done it without all of our Trinity Family volunteers and staff at Trinity Downtown. Because of YOUR SUPPORT we were able to raise $2,500 for the school. We look forward to many more successful events at Trinity!

Trinity Lutheran School Basketball Home Games
Save these dates! You're invited to come out and support Trinity Lutheran School at home games!  We'd love to have you cheering on the Trinity Vikings from the bleachers! Below is the list of upcoming home games.
12/4 - Home Game vs. I.C.S. (4:30pm)
12/7 - Home Game vs. Grace Lutheran (6:30pm)

Youth Instrumentalists for Christmas Eve 3pm Children's Program
Trinity's Children's Christmas Eve worship service will once again be held at 3pm on December 24th in our sanctuary. Children and youth who play a solo instrument are invited to play a sacred Christmas piece before the service begins. We have space for 4-5 instrumentalists. Please contact Julia Malenke at jmalenke@trinitydowntown.com if you are available that evening and would be interested in sharing a musical offering.

Need for Crafters: Preparing for Christmas Eve Children's Program
Do you enjoy cutting things out and using a glue gun? Have we got a fun service project for you!  There is a need for 250 paper stick puppets to be cut out and sticks glued on for the Christmas Eve Children's Service.  The paper puppets are already laminated, they just need to be "bubble cut" and then have large craft sticks hot glued on to the back.  All of the supplies will be provided. Please contact jmalenke@trinitydowntown.com if you would enjoy taking on part or all of this project.  Thanks so much!

Stewardship Update
Trinity's Stewardship Committee is reporting the contributions and offerings of the congregation for the four months of July 2018 ending October 2018. We are reporting the actual offerings compared to the pledges and estimated pledges of the contributors.

For the four months reported our actual offerings are below the pledged commitments and giving by ($15,055). Total offerings are $241,548, our committed pledges and uncommitted givers were $256,603. Our actual offerings are 6% under our giving budget. It is most important to know we base our current fiscal year operations on our giving budget. We can fulfill our ministry plans by achieving our giving budget.  Help us reach the goal.

We have 88 family giving units who pledge provide 70% of our total offerings received or $168,918 of the total offerings of $241,548. We have 175 member and guest reported who have given year to date $72,630. Pledged offerings are ($3,360) behind the pledge commitments.   Uncommitted offerings are ($11,695) of the ($15,055) or 78% of the shortfall.

We remain ever grateful and thankful for our pledge Members and our Givers.  We Thank You through Jesus Christ for your stewardship, your commitment and your financial support of Trinity Downtow n Orlando ministries.

Christian Yoga!
You're welcome to join us on Mondays for a $5 Christian Yoga class at 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall. The class needs a minimum number in attendance to be held at such a discounted rate, so please email Beth at baschu4@bellsouth.net to confirm you're coming. Class starts at 6:30 pm, please arrive by 6:20 pm. Thank you! Bring with you an exercise mat (and block if you have), $5, comfy clothes, a smile, and enthusiasm!

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.  In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101). During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers. For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend call or text (text preferred) us at 407-490-7339 . We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know. Thank you.

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to Pray@TrinityDowntown.com .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
