This Weekend

Saturday: We Need Your Help Moving, Please!!
We're so excited! The Pastoral Team, General Manager and Finance Offices are moving back to the main campus! We have 6 offices full of furniture that need to be relocated to their new office spaces across campus. This move is scheduled for this Saturday, November 17 from 9am until we're finished, but no later than 3pm, and please drop in for any amount of time you're available. Please bring water, snacks, and lunch to keep yourself hydrated and nourished. Someone with a truck would be great, and bring a dolly/hand truck if you have one. Please R.S.V.P. to Eric Havens at  Eric.Havens@Trinitydowntown.com. Your assistance is tremendously appreciated. Thank you.

Sunday: Congregation Thanksgiving Meal
Have you planned your potluck dish yet? Our Trinity family Thanksgiving dinner is getting close! Sunday, November 18 is the date; 12:15pm is the time; the Fellowship Hall/gym is the place. The turkey and dressing will be ready, we just need you and a side dish. (Members whose last names start with A-J bring a salad or potato dish, K-S a vegetable dish, T-Z a dessert. Please plan for a dish to serve 10-12 people. The ovens will be full of turkey so we won't be able to bake your dish.) It will be a fun time, renewing old friendships and making new ones. Hope to see you there!
Your Weekly News & Updates
Our Mission
Our mission is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through ministries which strengthen and equip people for Christian witness and service in downtown, metropolitan Orlando and the world.

Lake Eola Christmas Outreach Plans
A local event through which we are able to witness and serve in downtown Orlando, connecting with Orlando neighbors, sharing that it's still all about Jesus, and that "Jesus is the Reason for the Season." What a great opportunity!

Lake Eola Christmas Community Outreach Event
The Trinity Family will once again participate in the City of Orlando's annual Tree Lighting Celebration at Lake Eola on the evening on Friday, November 30 from 5-9 pm. It is a live, on-air, first lighting of Lake Eola Park's 72 foot Christmas tree, live music and performances, vendor booths, and The Daily City's Food Truck Bazaar.

TLS Students will sing on the amphitheater stage at 5:30pm, and Trinity volunteers will serve in the vendor area from 5pm-9pm with multiple free activities and giveaways that celebrate the birth of Jesus, and communicate that "It's still all about Jesus".

This is an amazing opportunity for our Trinity Family to connect with our neighbors, be seen in the community, and have conversations with people about why Trinity is so special to us, and invite them to come visit. Plus, its really a lot of fun!

Trinity Family volunteers are needed to serve in various roles (K-8 families, PRICE hours apply). We need YOU there! Shifts are offered so you can volunteer one shift and enjoy the event as a guest for the other half. We also have a need for cupcake bakers, and some requests to borrow items needed such as 6' tables and 10x10 tents. Sign up online today at http://signup.com/go/qQFjuWg (Signing up today instead of the day before the event is a true blessing to the event coordinators! Thank you!) Questions? Contact Chanda at 407-488-1919 x101 or TLC@TrinityDowntown.com. Can't wait to see you all there!

Supplies Needed for Lake Eola Outreach Event
We're in need of several 6-foot plastic tables, and several 10x10 tailgate tents to use at the event. Please let us know if we can borrow yours. It would be greatly appreciated.

Costume Preparation Project
Trinity's 78 VPK children will be wearing angel costumes for the Lake Eola Tree Lighting concert on November 30 and we are in need of volunteers to give these costumes a little bit of TLC. The angel costumes have been in storage for two years and would benefit from a little bit of freshening up, some just by ironing and others may need both washing and ironing. If you would like to help with this project, you can pick up as many as you would like to work on from Colby Howard's office in the CDC building starting this coming Tuesday morning, November 13. Costumes may be returned to her office on or before November 26th. Thank you for your gift of time in helping our littlest angels to shine as they share the good news of Jesus birth in song with our Orlando community.
Regular Voters Assembly
Our next regularly scheduled voters assembly is scheduled for Monday, December 10 at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary.  This will be a regularly scheduled voters for reporting purposes.

LWML  has a child's quilt 55" x 90" for a boy or girl. Top of quilt is a print featuring zoo animals and back and binder is solid hunter green. This is a tied quilt of all new material which will wash well and be light-weight but warm. Our group has decided to offer this quilt for bids from November 16, 2018 to December 14, 2018.  We start with a $35 bid and you can bid in $5 or more increments. The money obtained will be donated half to Trinity School Scholarships and half to LWML treasury. Call in bids and leave a message if there is no answer at 407-491-4452. Each week the newsletter will report the current bid and also the final bid and who won it.

LWML Fall Project - Soap Collection
LWML's Fall project for World Relief is a collection of individually boxed bath soaps (no hotel soap). There will be a wash tub with a scrub board in the Narthex starting Saturday, November 17 and will continue until January 2, 2019. This is part of our mission outreach to third world countries where this soap is a precious commodity.

Everyone Needs Trash Bags!
The High School National Youth Gathering Fundraising has begun! We have eight youth committed to attend the National Youth Gathering in Minnesota in July 2019. The estimated cost per participant is $1,500. This includes airfare, hotel, and meal money. Our first big sale begins now! You won't want to miss this!  It's something EVERYONE uses and the good news is you don't have to stuff your freezer with tubs of cookie dough or choose from 50 varieties of wrapping paper! Be sure to find our youth set up outside church selling TRASH BAGS! Each roll is $13, either 15 gallon bags / 65 bags per roll (white) or 39 gallon bags /25 bags per roll (yellow). Please make checks payable to TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH (youth fundraiser on memo). Thank you for your support.

Youth Instrumentalists for Christmas Eve 3pm Children's Program
Trinity's Children's Christmas Eve worship service will once again be held at 3:00 pm on December 24th in our sanctuary. Children and youth who play a solo instrument are invited to play a sacred Christmas piece before the service begins. We have space for 4-5 instrumentalists. Please contact Julia Malenke at jmalenke@trinitydowntown.com if you are available that evening and would be interested in sharing a musical offering.

Stewardship Update
Trinity's Stewardship Committee is reporting the contributions and offerings of the congregation for the four months of July 2018 ending October 2018. We are reporting the actual offerings compared to the pledges and estimated pledges of the contributors.

For the four months reported our actual offerings are below the pledged commitments and giving by ($15,055). Total offerings are $241,548, our committed pledges and uncommitted givers were $256,603. Our actual offerings are 6% under our giving budget. It is most important to know we base our current fiscal year operations on our giving budget. We can fulfill our ministry plans by achieving our giving budget.  Help us reach the goal.

We have 88 family giving units who pledge provide 70% of our total offerings received or $168,918 of the total offerings of $241,548. We have 175 member and guest reported who have given year to date $72,630. Pledged offerings are ($3,360) behind the pledge commitments.   Uncommitted offerings are ($11,695) of the ($15,055) or 78% of the shortfall.
We remain ever grateful and thankful for our pledge Members and our Givers.  We Thank You through Jesus Christ for your stewardship, your commitment and your financial support of Trinity Downtow n ministries.

Christian Yoga!
You're welcome to join us on first and third Mondays (and if we have enough participants, we could add second and fourth Mondays too) for a $5 Christian Yoga class at 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall. The class needs a minimum number in attendance to be held at such a discounted rate, so please email Beth at baschu4@bellsouth.net to confirm you're coming. Class starts at 6:30 pm, please arrive by 6:20 pm. Thank you! Bring with you an exercise mat (and block if you have), $5, comfy clothes, a smile, and enthusiasm!

Please let us know!
Please let your Trinity family know of any scheduled surgery or hospital stay.  In addition to scheduled procedures, please give the church office a call to let us know about extended illness, unplanned hospital stays, or even the birth of a child.  You can call the office at any time and leave a message-no need to wait until business hours (407-488-1919 x101). During business hours, that information can then be forwarded to the appropriate caregivers. For an emergency that requires the care of a Pastor after hours or over the weekend call or text us at 407-490-7339 and leave a message. We'll get back to you ASAP. We want to be sure to know when you need us-whether to pray with you before a scheduled procedure, sit with you during a loved one's procedure, pray for you while you recover, visit you in the hospital/at home or to share praise and thanksgiving prayers for good news/results. Just let us know.  Thank you.

Urgent Prayer Requests
If you have an urgent prayer request that can't wait until you fill out a yellow prayer card during worship, please submit it via email to Pray@TrinityDowntown.com .  While submitting a yellow card during worship is still the preferred way to share prayer requests, sometimes a prayer need can't wait until Sunday.  Your prayer request (first name and basic details of the prayer requested) will be shared with a team of committed weekday prayer warriors and will also be added to Trinity's regular printed prayer list for the congregation.  All prayers are kept on the printed list for a period of three weeks, so please resubmit long term prayer needs regularly so that they stay on the printed list. Thank you.
