Special Voters Meeting
Scheduled for Sunday, May 18, following the 11 worship service in the Sanctuary.

THANK YOU
There is a small group of Trinity members who faithfully spend every Wednesday morning standing on the corner of Magnolia/Rosalind and Livingston. Why? Because Trinity gives away free cups of coffee to anyone walking or driving by to share the love of God in this very simple gift of fellowship. As the warmer days are upon us, most people aren’t interested in a hot beverage (even though some of us can’t imagine any morning without a cup of “joe”), so the volunteers pack up the coffee cart and take a summer break. Thanks to J.J. Alexander and Lynn Wacker who never fail to get the coffee brewing at 7:00 a.m., to Ron and Susan Roby and Liz Borth who pass out coffee with a smile and wave to those who walk and those who drive by, to Maggie Bowles who shared a chilly morning with the team, and to Karen Arnett who faithfully spent many weeks walking up and down Magnolia passing coffee to early morning until her grandchildren needed her at home. We need more people to keep this simple and vital ministry alive! Contact J.J. Alexander anytime with your questions and to volunteer: jjalexa@gmail.com

OWLS Brunch and Art, Wednesday, May 21

We will all have lunch then go to the Orlando Museum Of Art (2416 N. Mills Ave, Orlando) to view "The Golden Age of Art" (Rembrandt, Rubens---etc.) This is a big show and will leave May 25th. About 20% are Christian paintings. Cost is $7 for senior $8 for regular for the Art Museum, plus lunch. If you plan to attend or have questions, please contact Bob Gordon at 407-897-1418.

Fabulous Retreat for Women
Most of you ladies are aware that your membership with Trinity Lutheran Church also gives you membership in the Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) National Organization. LWML is a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod service and mission oriented organization of volunteers. We women promote “mites” – the pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarter change – collection that totals millions (yes, that is $1,000,000) of dollars for grants. The women also enjoy local gatherings that strengthen faith and provide opportunities to meet new like-minded people in a social atmosphere.
The weekend of September 26-28, 2014, the bi-annual LWML Florida-Georgia convention will be held in Jacksonville. This is not too far away for us. In less than 3 hours you can travel to the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk hotel AND you will travel back in time because every room for the LWML is priced at the 2004 $99.00 rate. If you remember, 2004 was the year of back-to-back hurricanes. The LWML convention that year ended early because the power at the Wyndham was cut off, and there was flooding in some of the hotel areas. LWML 2004 convention goers were helped with evacuation of other hotel guests and showed such hearts of mercy and love that the Wyndham offered this year’s convention at the discounted rate. Ladies! You can share a room with three friends at a 5-star hotel for $25 a night. Unheard of in 2014!!
Look for the purple EVANGEL newsletters on the LWML table in the rear east narthex (the side with the chairs, busy bags, and giant mite box) for more detailed information.

An Opportunity to Volunteer
Here is an easy and simple way to make a difference in the lives of people in Orlando. IDignity needs a once-a-week (2 hours or so every Thursday) person to do in office paperwork. The IDignity offices are on the second floor of Trinity’s Magnolia Building. To volunteer, contact: jennifer@idignity.org

Wedding Invitation
Rev. Dennis Glander and Ms. Janice Bailes will be united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, June 21st at 11:00 am in Trinity’s Sanctuary. A reception will follow the service. They would be pleased and honored to have your presence as they exchange their wedding vows. Please RSVP at Rev.Glander@gmail.com. Thank you.

Save the Date
Do you like to eat? Do you also wonder how you can show compassionate care for those less fortunate? You can do both at the annual SOUPER DOUPER IDignity fundraising event. This is a meal with a purpose for helping the poor and needy obtain vital identification documents in order to work, rent, cash a check, or even obtain a library card. The event is October 2, 2014 at the Ballroom on Church Street. More details will follow, but contact Jennifer@idignity.org if you are interested in sponsoring a table, helping plan the event or simply making a generous donation.

How to Unwind and Volunteer
