Food on the Fifth
Did you forget? Don’t fret, there is always a basket in the narthex of the church for food donations. The food collected each week is delivered to the food pantry at the Christian Service Center where many families are given a hand up. We also send pop-top canned food items to the Community Food & Outreach Center’s emergency pantry. Contact Deaconess Liz - eborth@trinitydowntown.org - with questions.
New Lenten Banners
The children in our school are learning the meaning of Jesus’ cross. Teachers are helping them design and display a few of the many varieties of crosses we see today. As the banners are completed, they will be displayed and will hang until Maundy Thursday. The cross is our shame and guilt, as well as our joy and hope. We are reminded of the punishment we deserved, and the great love of God to take our place. Jesus’ resurrection defeated the result of that cross crucifixion and gifted each of us with eternal life, but we have to wait a little longer to celebrate that glorious promise. Any thoughts or comments, contact Deaconess Liz: eborth@trinitydowntown.org
Easter Palms and Lilies
The flowers that make Trinity especially beautiful during the Palm Sunday and Easter celebrations are provided by members of our Trinity family who wish to remember loved ones, or simply express special thanks to God. Order forms are in the Narthex. Please print clearly & place in the offering plate.

VBS Volunteers Needed!
VBS 2014: Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27, 9am- Noon, “Weird Animals: Where Jesus’ Love is One-of-a-Kind” is the curriculum for Trinity’s Vacation Bible School 2014, June 23-27, 9am to noon. Preschool thru 5th grade! Last year we had close to 100 kids everyday hearing God’s word! We are looking for volunteers: Station Leaders, registration coordinator, PR coordinator, Missions Coordinator and much more. The curriculum is very simple and easy to use. Stations Leaders are given a manual that outlines what to do each day. If you are interested Tonya Ackerman will be available after the 9:30 and 11am worship services this weekend, or contact Tonya at tackerman8@cfl.rr.com.
Campus Work Day - April 5th
We will work on our church grounds, do some planting in front of the Sanctuary and clean up our facilities. Please sign up in Narthex or email climontes@trinitydowntown.org. Bring your garden tools and cleaning supplies. Lunch included! 8 am to 12 pm. Supported by Thrivent Financial.
Also on April 5 - LWML Spring Rally
All women of Trinity are invited to attend the annual Spring Rally, this year held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oviedo. We gather at 8:00 a.m. for 30 minutes of registration and breakfast. The thrill of worshipping at a communion service with 100 women of all ages is really something to experience. This year, the Spring Service Project is building and providing welcoming baskets for women seeking shelter at SafeHouse, an organization reaching out to women exposed to domestic violence. Trinity’s contribution to the baskets is FULL size bottles of body lotion. If you are coming, bring $7.00 to cover cost of breakfast and lunch. If you cannot make it because you are planning on cleaning up Trinity’s campus, then bring a bottle of lotion to the church narthex and place it in the collection box. Contact Martha Pfantz for further details and information:407-425-2947

Compassion Corner is a shared ministry of Trinity and other churches throughout the greater Orlando area, and this yummy taste event is its primary fund raiser. Compassion Corner is a relationship building ministry, not a hand-out service agency. Trinity is so blessed to have a facility that fills the need for a safe and welcoming respite center for the homeless men and women in our neighborhood. Pastor Moore and Deaconess Liz regularly teach Bible classes and find the Word of God is hungrily digested. Every day begins with Bible study and prayer, for only God’s Word can truly shine hope in the darkness.

Save the Date
Once again, the Women of Trinity are invited to a quarterly “Supper & a Speaker” event. On April 24, 2014 we will meet in Fellowship Hall at 6:00 p.m. (this is a ½ hour earlier than previous suppers). This month we will discover an inner artist within as we paint a canvas with acrylic. You don’t have to have talent, as the instructor will lead you every step of the way. Cost is $35.00 and reservations are necessary to insure everyone has a canvas. Bring heavy hors d’ourves for our feasting together. More information to follow with printed invitations coming soon as well. Questions? Call or email Deaconess Liz: 407-488-1919 X127 eborth@trinitydowntown.org.
