Your Weekly News & Updates
"GOOOOD morning Trinity!!!"  I wish I could be here to say that this weekend but Desiree and I have headed to South Florida to enjoy the week at the ocean and beach with our family. We will return next Saturday, August 16 for services. Thank you Pastor Weerts for filling in for me this weekend and for taking good care of God's children at Trinity.

This week two of our beloved Trinity member shut-ins went home to be with Jesus. Helen Penberthy passed away early Tuesday morning and Larue Baker passed away early Thursday.  A memorial service is scheduled for Helen Penberthy on Thursday, June 14 at 10am here at Trinity. No service details have been received yet for Ms. Baker.

The Campus Task Force Town Hall meeting scheduled for Monday, June 11 has been postponed until further notice.

Comfort Dog Passing of the Vest Ceremonies
June 30 & July 1
Trinity's LCC Comfort Dog arrives on June 23 when our team of seven Handlers returns from training in Chicago. Let's celebrate! Join us at any of four worship services on the weekend of June 30 & July 1 for the Passing of the Vest ceremony where Trinity's Comfort Dog is officially presented to the congregation and the community by Lutheran Church Charities. Services times are Saturday, June 30 at 6pm, or Sunday, July 1 at either 8am, 9:30am or 11am. After each Sunday service Trinity will host a reception where everyone will have an opportunity to meet and greet Trinity's comfort dog in person as well as members of the Comfort Dog Ministry Team, and many friends and supporters of this ministry. Trinity Downtown is blessed to become a part of this amazing ministry which out into the community sharing the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus Christ! This invitation is open to all! Please share! To learn more about how you can support this outreach initiative, please visit our webpage at

Summer Children's Christian Education
Over the summer, Trinity will be prayerfully seeking new volunteer teaching staff to add to our roster of teachers for both the elementary age classes and for the youth Bible class. Each time a little child is baptized here at Trinity, we make several "We Will" promises regarding our participation in the Christian education of this child.  If God lays this ministry on your heart, please let us know in the weeks ahead.

On Sunday, May 27, we debuted our Sunday Morning Passport Adventure where each weekend, children can pick up a booklet in the narthex, complete the learning activity during worship, and receive a stamp at the end of the service from the ushers in the narthex.  Children can earn prizes for their stamps which will be awarded at the Fall "Rally Day Sunday" after the 2018-2019 school year begins (date TBA). These passport booklets will hopefully encourage our families to worship together while giving the children something to do to help focus their attention on the worship service. If your family visits another church on vacation, please bring in the church bulletin and your child will receive a stamp for that Sunday.

And finally, be sure to sign your rising Kindergarten- rising Sixth Grade child up for our Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus week of VBS, June 18-22. You can find registration forms in the narthex and in both school offices, or online at our website.

Come and join us here at Trinity for the BEST week of summer! You'll meet new friends, do amazing experiments and play creative games.  Each day as you sing incredible songs, eat yummy snacks, and go on surprising adventures, you will experience the Word of God in real and awesome ways. Registration forms are available in the school offices or you may register online   . You can also find the link on the main page of the school website. Perhaps It Is You...
The Nominating Committee is seeking candidates to serve as the "At Large" member of the Leadership Council.  We don't know who that person is yet, but God does. Is it possible He is calling you with His "still small voice" to serve?  If you think that just might be the case, contact Mary Beth Brink at MB.Brink@yahoo.com. She would love to have the opportunity to answer your questions and to share additional details.

Filled Baby Bottles are due back on Father's Day!Filled Baby Bottles are due back on Father's Day!THANK YOU for your support of Redeeming Life!  The Baby Bottle Fundraising Campaign for Redeeming Life Maternity Home is a celebration of life, where Trinity members have the opportunity to partner with Redeeming Life Maternity Home as they reach out to pregnant women in crisis.

This week RLOM celebrates the birth of twins! Babies Ava and Ahmad were born at 30 weeks. Mom is doing well. Babies need our prayers to stay healthy and gain weight!

Redeeming Life provides critical services to expectant mothers and their unborn children by giving them hope and an opportunity for a bright future.  The maternity home and new transitional home provide residents, some of whom believe that their only option is abortion, a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered home. At Redeeming Life they experience, many for the first time, what it means to love and to be loved in Christ, while learning to support themselves and their child. Thank you!!
