COMING SOON…VOTERS ASSEMBLY Sunday, February 21 12:30 PM Check the article below about what we’ll be covering.
NEW CENTURY CENTER DEDICATION SUNDAY, MARCH 13!!! We’re planning on it, so watch for news about what we’re working on to spruce up our campus.
CAMPUS REVITALIZATION GIFT OPPORTUNITIES Last fall our Leadership Council prioritized a long list of campus revitalization projects. Leadership Council has asked our General Manager Eric Havens to track the most urgent sanctuary renovations and campus painting projects. As of this writing, about $11,800 has been pledged. The balcony air conditioner has been replaced. The roof repairmen have been out assessing our leaks. We’re also getting estimates on repairing the windows, so that when they’re securely water-proofed, the dollars previously donated for carpeting can be put to use. Other sanctuary projects include railings in front and rear and finishing the sacristy repairs. We may not get everything done by Dedication/Easter, but let’s keep giving our place of worship the care it deserves! THANK-YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! Our General Manager, Eric Havens, has also broken down our painting projects (approx. $40,000) into smaller segments. Check with him for more info at eric.havens@trinitydowntown.com.
“B.L.E.S.S.” WORKSHOP On Sunday, March 6 at 12:15 PM ourFL/GA District Mission Executive Rev. Doug Kallesen will be our presenter for a unique event sponsored by our Outreach Team. How can you be a BLESS-ing to people around you who need the Lord?
Trinity Voters Assembly
Mark your calendars and make the commitment; February 21st marks the date for the first Voters Assembly meeting of the new year. We will gather in the Sanctuary following the 11AM service and begin the proceedings at 12:30. Agenda items will include reports on Trinity’s Ministries, State of the Parish, Financial Health of the Parish, School Board and Leadership Highlights. There is a great deal of “catching up” to do with the congregation as a whole as we look towards a final completion of the New Century Center building and a dedication focused on celebrating our entire campus. Your campus revitalization donations are making a difference on campus and we will start to look forward to celebration Trinity’s 100th year of “Bringing People Closer to Jesus” coming up quickly in 2019. The Senior Pastor Call Committee expects to hear from President Walton soon on potential candidates for Trinity. It will be exciting to see what plans God has for Trinity as he directs this process. Moreover, the committee is looking forward to sharing enlightening findings from our congregational self-study. School Board has evaluated Trinity’s K-8 program needs for the future and brought a proposal to the Leadership Council to offer a “call” to Dr. Brockberg. Leadership confirms and is bringing the call to the congregation. February 21st is an opportune time to come together as a congregation to assess where we are and to begin charting our future. We do have obstacles to overcome, including financial challenges due to contributions falling behind. However, by the Grace of God we will not only meet our obligations but grow to be a thriving presence in downtown Orlando. Please plan on joining us on February 21st.
Senior Pastor Call Process: Update February 3, 2016
The Senior Pastor Call Committee has compiled the results of the congregational survey that was conducted as part of the Senior Pastor Call Process. You may read/download it here. Or, you may request a hard copy from the church office by contacting us at 407-488-1919 x101 or TLC@TrinityDowntown.com. Thank you.
Construction Update
Our construction team hopes to complete the soccer field and parking lot areas within the next 2-3 weeks. Early next week Amelia Street will be closed for a day to make the sewer connections needed for Doster to take next steps toward final project completion. It’s been a long road and we’re nearing the end! So much to be thankful for!
Game Day Subs – Support Trinity Youth
Our National Youth Gathering High Schoolers have the sub sandwiches you ordered for the Big Game ready in Fellowship Hall this after each service on February 6 & 7. Questions? email: trinityhsyouth@gmail.com
How can you help people in need RIGHT NOW?
Rather than say, “someone should do something for those people,” you can join Trinity and be one of the 100 volunteers at the IDignity event on Thursday, February 18 and help over 200 people obtain Florida identification. The Federal REAL ID Act requires every citizen prove their identity with a birth certificate, social security card, and proof of residence. Eight years ago, Trinity members followed Jesus’ direction and cared for strangers in need and along with other Christian men and women organized IDignity, Inc. IDignity, a non-profit faith based organization, makes a complicated process easy every month with a free identification event. If you cannot give up one day a year, you can share a financial gift. Pre-registration will allow you to serve where you want when you want: www.idignity.org/volunteer. Event is held at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission on Central Blvd. with FREE parking 1 block east. The Continental breakfast is free and lunch is free, but your time is priceless. You can talk to Deaconess Liz (407-488-1919 X 127) with any questions.

Music Opportunities!
Do you – or your children – love to sing? Do you play an instrument – or maybe you played one years ago and would like to start again? Would you like to ring a handbell to see what it’s like? We would love to expand Trinity’s music program, and we need your help! We’ll have a Music Ministry Survey form is availble in the narthex – please fill it out and put it in the Music Survey Box.
Handbell Workshop!
If you’re one of those people who want to see what it’s like to ring handbells, please come to our two-session Handbell Workshop, which will be held in the church balcony from 6:00 – 6:40pm on Wednesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 24. Ms. Jennifer Castillo, who has years of handbell experience, will lead the sessions and demonstrate the dos and don’ts of ringing. This will be “hands-on” – you’ll be ringing like a pro at the end! Everyone, from teenagers on up, is welcome. The workshop is for musical enjoyment and enrichment, not a commitment to join the handbell choir. Please contact Glenda Frazier at whitemice@bellsouth.net no later than February 14 to reserve your spot.
Trinity’s Cantata & Sermons Online
If you missed it, you can view it online at Church.TrinityDowntown.com under the worship tab, click on sermons. Enjoy!
Bring in Those Box Tops!
Since August, Trinity has earned $298.90 collecting box tops. Our goal this year is to reach $1500, and we’re already half way through the school year. I know we can get at least $1200 more before the end of the school year! Please remember to cut those box tops and bring them to a classroom, the front office or the collection box in the Narthex. Remember…It’s free and only takes a few seconds to clip! This is a great way to help earn money for Trinity! If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Walters @ slw2123@aol.com.

The class is working hard to get the word out that collecting Pop Tabs is an easy way to provide funds for the Ronald McDonald House, just down the street from Trinity. Pop and Drop! Collection jars have been placed in the narthex, the Livingston office, and the New Century Center building lobby for your convenience. Pop a can open, then drop a tab in the nearest collection jar!
