 No Line Car Wash--Valet service for drop off and pick up if desired

No line car-wash, this Sunday, December 15 from 8am to 12:30 pm.  Drop your car off in the Livingston lot for valet service to the Magnolia lot where your car will be washed and dried while you worship!  Come back to the front lot/car line after worship and we’ll retrieve your freshly washed car!  If you would rather skip the valet service, just drop off your car in the Magnolia lot before worship, and pick up after.  We’ll wash your car while you’re in worship and have it ready for you when you return!  Car-wash donation proceeds go toward the $6,000.00 transportation cost for the Middle School trip to Driftwood in April 2014. Cash and Checks will be accepted.  RSVP for valet car wash service today by emailing Christie Leibner at cleibner@trinitydowntown.org.  If you forget to RSVP, please come on by anyway.  RSVP is not necessary, but very helpful for our volunteers.  Thank you for supporting our middles school teachers and students!

 

Camp Trinity Christmas Mini Camp

Camp Trinity will be open on Monday, December 23rd for a fun day of Christmas Mini Camp.  There will be cookie decorating, fun games and crafts, music, and Christmas themed “Minute to Win It” competitions.  This day of camp is included for TLS families who pay for Extended Care by the month…for all others a full day of camp (7 a.m.-6 p.m.) is $40 which includes two snacks and all of the activities. There will also be two days of Happy New Year Camp on Thursday and Friday, January 2nd and 3rd,  from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. with the same fee structure as mentioned above.  Mr. Poole will also be serving hot, delicious lunches on camp days for only $5 per meal.  Contact Julia Malenke (407)488-1919 x. 122) with any questions or call the school office to register.

Retake Day

Portrait packages were sent home last week.  If you did not order a package you should have received a “Second Chance” notice with your child’s photo on it if your child was photographed that day.  If you like the photo, please follow the directions on the form to order prints.   Since we received our packages later than originally expected, the retake day has been moved to Monday, December 16th.  The photographer will only be here for a short time in the morning so please make sure your child is at school on time.  All K-8 students are required to wear their school uniform on picture day.  Even if you do not plan on ordering all children will be photographed to appear in the yearbook.

 

Serving our Neighbors

Trinity School Room Parents coordinated the gifts of food and special place settings for a Christmas Service Project.  Trinity Church has provided a meal on the 24th day of every month to the Christian Service Center’s Fresh Start Program for over 20 years.  This Christmas Eve, Trinity school has taken full responsibility for every aspect of a special holiday meal.  Festive placemats and tableware, a delicious turkey or ham, cookies, side dishes, stockings stuffed with candy and nuts, and a special gift will show our Christ-centered love.  Thank you to teachers, parents, and especially the room parents for such a valued gift of time and creativity.  Want to know more about this great way to serve?  Contact Deaconess Liz: eborth@trinitydowntown.org.

 

Tutoring Opportunity

Mrs. Wilkins, our 4th and 5th grade teacher, has some openings in her after school tutoring schedule.  She has openings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for students up to the 6th grade level.  If you are interested please contact her at dwilkins@trinitydowntown.org.

 

TLS Extra Curricular Activities

Beginning in January, all extra curricular activities (Soccer, Shots, Computer Tutor, Impact Dance, Drum Class and the Watch Me Sculpt class) will handle all of their own registration and payments. Parents will no longer pay through VANCO. Some vendors may still have registration forms that can be filled out and turned in to the office and some may do it all online. Save The Date - PTL Family Fun Night

Please save the date for the Orlando Science Center Family Fun Night sponsored by the PTL  on Friday, January 24, 2014.  Dinner begins at 5:30pm and Science Center hands on displays begin at 6:15pm. Bible Study for TLS Parents

Please consider signing up for a daily short email blast from Moms in Prayer International. You will receive Scripture prayers to pray for your own children, for our school children, and for our staff.  Go to www.momsinprayer.org.  Click on Prayer Connection Box.  At the bottom of the list click on “Sign Up for Daily Scripture Prayers”.  Register and you’re done!  If we can’t physically meet on campus to pray together, we can pray in our own time and place together for our children and our school!

Yes, it’s that time of year again!  The flowers that make Trinity especially beautiful during the Christmas celebrations are provided by members of our Trinity family who wish to remember loved ones, or simply express special thanks to God.  I hope you had a great week.  2013 is winding down …where does the time go?!  We hope you’re your 2013 was amazing and that the new year holds more joy for all of you.

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!  Psalm 107:1

 

School Picture retakes will be Monday, December 16, 2013.  Please let your child’s teacher know if you want your pictures redone!

 

Please note that the CDC will be closed on December 24, 2013 and we will re-open on January 2, 2014.  Please let your child’s teacher know if you will not be in attendance on December 23, 2013 and January 2 &3. 2014.  It helps us to know so we can manage staffing.  Thank you for helping us keep our costs down.

 

You will see on your statement that will be dated 12/16/13, the vacation credit Trinity grants everyone for the week of Christmas.  Please let us know if you want to use any additional vacation time.

 

We had a wonderful evening with our three VPK/Pre K 4 year old classes and Kindergarten at our Christmas Cantatas.  The children were all “Angels”!  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.  It was wonderful to see so many of you after the service sharing dinner.  Below is a picture taken by Amber Lavender; aren’t they beautiful?!

 

 

Our CDC classes will be celebrating  Christmas with a class party next week.  Please know that our parents are always invited, but it is not mandatory that you come.  The teachers typically plan a regular day with all things Christmassy to celebrate for the children to enjoy!  It is very difficult to schedule a party when all parents can attend.  We appreciate your   understanding.

 

I would personally like to invite all of you to attend one of Trinity’s Christmas Services.  The times are as follows:

 

Tusday December 24, 2013 – arrive early, the church fills up fast.

3:00 pm - Children’s Service

5:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 9:00 pm, 11:00 pm – Candle Light Services

           Wednesday, December 25, 2013 – 10:00 am

 

 

Upcoming Events

February 25 and 27, 2014 we have schedule our yearly Speech-Language and Hearing Screenings.  These are specifically for children 3 and older, but if you or your child’s teacher have concerns, they will screen your child.  The cost for the screening is $10.  All checks should be made payable to Trinity;  we will write 1 check for UCF.  You will have preliminary results within one week, usually the same day as the screening.  You can sign-up in the front office.  I have attached the permission slips for your convenience.

 

April 2 &3, 2014 we have scheduled our Candid photo sessions with Tom Marshall Photography, additional information will follow in the next few weeks.
