Together we will be collecting supplies to create “Comfort Backpacks” for children who need a little extra love and care while they are in transition from their home to DCF, foster care or medical care in an initiative made in partnership with the Orlando Police Department, the Department of Children and Families and the Howard Phillips Center.  Our goals is to provide 250 backpacks.

During Trinity’s community Oktoberfest/Reformation event on Friday, October 27th we’ll be assembling these backpacks with the supplies we’re gathering now.  We’d love to have you participate!  As you are able, please contribute the following items:

  • small blanket
  • small stuffed animal
  • toothpaste
  • toothbrush
  • small toy for a boy and/or girl
  • playing cards
  • crayons
  • coloring book (Christian content preferred)
  • Cash gifts are welcome also, and we can do the shopping for you.

You can drop off your donation in the entryway of the church during worship on the weekend, or at the CDC, K-8, Church or Main offices on Trinity’s campus during the week. If you have questions, email TLC@trinitydowntown.com or call  407-488-1919 x101.
