Touch a Truck Can Touch Your Business
Would your small business like to have a chance to advertise to thousands of people in the Orlando area on Saturday, November 15th?
For the low cost of $100, Trinity Lutheran School is looking for Family Friendly Businesses that wish to "own" a table from 9am-1pm on Saturday, November 15th during our huge Touch-A-Truck Event. You and your sale items will be placed in the shade in the loggia near all of the action! This is a great opportunity to showcase your products! Some of the vendors we are looking for include but are not limited to: Mary Kay Cosmetics, Thirty-One monogrammed bag collections, Stella and Dot Jewelry, and Tupperware. The fee of $100 will go directly to our children at TLS in care of our Parent Teacher League.
Due to limited space, there is only a certain number of tables available, so please don't delay! You may contact Traci Bradley at traci.bradley@kesslercollection.com no later than Friday, October 17th to reserve your table!

Traffic on October 26th
When you come to church on Reformation Day, October 26th, there will be a detour if you drive up Rosalind Avenue. You’ll have to turn right on Robinson, then left on Broadway and left on Livingston to get to the parking garage. We’ve talked with the Festival Callé Orange promoters, and they tell us the detour will be clearly marked, so you shouldn’t have trouble getting here. Please do leave home 5 minutes early that day, though!
Great Opportunity-No Experience Necessary
Trinity needs your help as an Usher. Please consider volunteering yourself or a loved one to serve as an Usher. High School and College students, we'd love to hear from you. We have openings at all services (especially 6pm and 11am). Call or text Brent Killinger at 407-953-9599 or email bkkillinger@gmail.com
OWLS (Older Wiser Lutherans)
On Wednesday, October 29th at 11:30am we’ll meet for lunch at the Best Western/Mount Vernon Inn at 110 South Orlando Ave., Winter Park, Fl, 32789. After lunch we’ll then go to Marge's (upscale Christmas shop) on Orange Blossom Trail off of Lee Road---this will get us ready for Christmas. If you have any questions, please contact Bob Gordon at 407-897-1418.
Compassion Gifts for Compassion Corner
The next two weekends, we will collect water bottles, disposable cups, napkins, small, travel size bottles of shampoo, body lotion, shaving cream, socks and bug repellent. See the box in the narthex. Thank you!

Just For Women Thank you
It is wonderful to hear from some of you with updated or new email addresses. If you haven’t done so yet, please send me your preferred email address so I may include you in the emailings I periodically send to every Trinity woman. Part of my ministry to Trinity church and school is to coordinate activities and information of specific interest to women. You can read about Supper and a Speaker and Lutheran Women in Mission projects in these news pages, but there is more information sent in the personal notices. If you have NEVER received a women only email message from me (one was sent last week) and would like to, please send me your email address. - Deaconess Liz eborth@trinitydowntown.org
Confirmation Prayer Partners
We are looking for adults to be Prayer Partners for our Confirmands. These kids need our support, prayer, and encouragement during their adolescent years, and this is a way we adults can help them. If you sign up as a prayer partner, we will give you an information sheet on one of our Confirmands. Prayer partners will be expected to 1) Remember their Confirmand daily in prayer. 2) Send notes and tokens of encouragement on holidays, 1st Communion, mid-monthly (by mail, or leave in narthex, or give via another adult). Questions? or if interested, please contact the church office or Gladys Dittmer, 407-658-9815, odittmer892@cfl.rr.com ASAP. Thank you.
LUNCH and a Speaker
Trinity’s quarterly Supper and a Speaker events is taking on a new theme this Fall. On SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8, we share LUNCH and a Speaker! The luncheon actually starts with a light breakfast (hold on! I’m not trying to confuse you) at 8:30 a.m. followed by a worship service and Bible study. The active and spirited women from seven churches east of Orlando gather that morning for LWML unity. However, if your schedule crunches your time so a four hour escape is difficult, come and share a delightful lunch and interesting speaker at 11:30 a.m. An $8.00 charge covers your meal and our guest speaker from House of Hope. Sarah Trollinger founded the nationally recognized House of Hope for hurting teens right here in Orlando in 1980. We are pleased to welcome Karla Mathis, Executive Director of House of Hope, who will share this ministry of love and restoration. But there is more! During the lunch you will enjoy a "Purse Auction." Designer, and other new or gently used purses have been donated to raise funds for three mission projects. The fun part is what is inside those purses: A SECRET SURPRISE. You will bid on the purse and find a valuable gift inside! Contact MaryLou Evanchyk 407-275-8096.

Middle School Youth Gathering
November 7-9, 2014 - Lake Yale Baptist Convention Center
This year all the churches in both Florida & Georgia will attend and Bill Yonker will be our speaker. The Living Stones will be returning as our Gathering band. The registration fee remains at $140.
- Who can register?
The Gathering specifically targets middle school youth. To register, a youth must be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade during the 2014-2015 school year. Non-LCMS youth are certainly welcome to attend also!
- What is a Junior Guide?
A junior guide is a high school youth who shows leadership skills and would be a tremendous asset to any youth director taking his/her youth group. Two junior guides are allowed for each church. They will be given specific responsibilities and opportunities for leadership training.
- Adult/Participant Ratio
For safety we require that each church provide 1 adult leader for every 6 attendees under the age of 18.
The event cost covers all program and administrative costs, two nights lodging, four meals, and a t-shirt for each participant. Keep your eye out for more information – coming soon!!
Please contact Lori Zavitz at 407-718-6184 or at lorizavitz@hotmail.com if you would like to attend.

What a Wonderful World!
At the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Youth Concert Series on Wednesday, the entire audience joined in song while the Orchestra played What a Wonderful World, composed by George David Weiss and popularized by Louis Armstrong. The lyrics capture the spirit of the concert, as well as our students’ enjoyment and courteous behavior on the walk to, at, and on the way back from the concert:
I see trees of green, red roses, too, The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky,
I see them bloom, for me and you Are also on the faces of people going by
And I think to myself I see friends shaking hands, sayin', "How do you do?"
What a wonderful world. They're really sayin', "I love you."
I see skies of blue, and clouds of white, I hear babies cryin'. I watch them grow.
The bright blessed day, They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
the dark sacred night And I think to myself
And I think to myself What a wonderful world
What a wonderful world. Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Indeed, we all experienced a beautifully sunny day accented with clouds of white, gardens blooming along the way, so many happy faces, time spent with friends away from school, and a concert of this caliber which surely widened the horizons of learning and appreciation for students, parent chaperones, and teachers alike.
Take a moment as you read these words and think of the daily beauty God creates in your world!
